Chisholm Park sits “up the hill” at the intersection of Cody Pass and Chisholm Trail, with a dirt walking path connecting it to Tohatchi Drive. It currently features a softball field and a beloved sledding hill. Accessibility issues, invasive honeysuckle overgrowth, and drainage issues have made it an underutilized space. We are proposing a number of upgrades to give neighbors up the hill a walkable space to meet up, play, and enjoy the beautiful natural space, while preserving what the community already loves about the space.
Chisholm Park Improvements
Proposed Improvements
-
Paved Bike Path
A paved bike path around the park will connect the entrances at the intersection of Cody Pass and Chisholm Trail through the woods to Tohatchi Drive. This will preserve the beauty of the natural space while making the path more durable and accessible for our neighbors.
-
Facilities Upgrades
A renovated ball field will upgrade this underutilized space and a small, secured bathroom will allow families to stay and play as long as they like. The addition of a small parking lot will improve accessibility and reduce street congestion and blocked driveways.
-
Naturalscape Playground
A naturalscape playground inspired by the beauty of the park and the woods will blend into the landscape and give children and up-the-hill neighbors a place to gather and use their imaginations, while integrating a new type of creative play space into our community.
We Need You.
To make this vision a reality, we need neighbors and other community partners to invest in these changes. Our ability to build these improvements depends on the support we receive from our community. Together we can build a better Wyoming and improve the spaces where our neighbors to gather, play, and stay active.
